The Mega Post Storm Community Beach Clean Up

Check out Little Kaiteriteri beach!!

The disastrous June/July storm events left our local beaches with a tangle of logs, branches, fence posts and other debris.  As well as being unsightly, health and safety issues were identified which prompted a group of energetic locals to organise themselves into a mega beach clean up team.

After a mammoth effort, with rakes, bins and trailers, the storm debris was hefted away, leaving the beach looking absolutely gorgeous and…. safer.

Huge thanks to Kaiteriteri Recreation Reserve for supporting the cleanup and Tasman District Council for covering the disposal cost.
